I was building my career in the field of computer graphics, visual effects, and virtual reality. Even in this high-tech world, I tried to express my nostalgia for the Other Side. But the demands of a tough industry and market were pulling me away from my real self.
Everyday tasks; pointless relationships; the weight of my past failures; the opinions of others; social conventions – all of these took away my freedom of choice and diminished my personal power.
Holding a computer mouse in a darkened room of a studio while the world outside was filled with sunshine, I asked myself if I would really finish my days on Earth wizening in front of a screen.
At the same time, I knew in the very depths of my soul that there was something more around me and inside of me. Something I could feel but could not see yet. I was aspiring to something real, powerful, and free, but inexpressible. I was seeking the possibility of regaining that wonderful feeling of being connected to everything in the world – the feeling of power and the brightness of Life that I felt so strongly in my childhood. But this time, I wanted to get it back without losing the sober experience of maturity.
That Other Me, locked deep inside, dreamed about establishing real connections with real people and wanted to live a full life.
All I needed was to find the proper key to open that cage and set myself free. The key to Personal Power …
I was lucky to meet the right people along my path.
It happened in 1997 in Mexico, where I met a group of personal-development researchers. We worked with some indigenous communities and translated their discoveries into the modern language of the everyday world.
This research group, called “The Art of Living Purposefully,” was founded by Mexican researcher and writer Victor Sanchez in the early ’80s. AVP became a movement of people interested in restoring a deep connection with Nature, their roots, and their own true soul.
In their search among the shamanic practices of the native peoples of Mexico, AVP has found that key, applied it to their own life, and proved it to be the right one. Later, the group developed this learning into a modern format.
In that atmosphere of acceptance and trust, my Other Self began to emerge, step by step, and I was truly amazed by who I became. With the support and assistance of the AVP team, I achieved the goals that my mind would not even think about but that my heart craved so much.
Amazingly, that discovery was not something exotic or completely unknown. On the contrary, it was the experience of returning to something native and intimate, something that had always been nearby. And it filled my life with new colors and meaning.
Later on, I became part of the AVP team, earning a certification as a workshop leader. I traveled around the world, meeting with real, powerful people and visiting wonderful, powerful places.
I have found my inner mainstay, a deep meaning, the source of inspiration and passion for my own life. It became a sober, strong, and bright sense of everything I do – a foundation for my own actions.
I am following this path, and now I can show it to you.
Like a trail guide, I will share my experience with you. As your personal leader, I will help you circumvent traps and reach the goal: the true version of yourself.
A long time ago, when there were no cities or asphalt roads, and humans walked gently on the earth, touching Her body with bare feet, people never doubted that we all are connected to everything as part of a bigger whole.
Some people were better at fine-tuning this connection for themselves and for others. Those were the first true shamans. They were not following a need to be admired, manipulate their followers, earn titles, or wear regalia as some modern “shamans” do. Instead, they took on a serious mission to pass this knowledge to others: to the people among them and to future generations.
Many cultures still hold parts of this knowledge – sometimes in actual practices and habits, sometimes in legends and fairy tales. But only a few modern cultures keep this knowledge whole, clear, and direct as their primary approach to life.
I call this knowledge, to use common words, “the knowledge of the earth.” It is a way of life based on a deep understanding of our humble but important role in the big picture of Nature as well as the connection of everything with anything else, including ourselves.
And the most important part of that message is that this connection is right here. No matter where we are, what cultural or religious background we have, what social status we have attained, we are all the same: sons and daughters of this Planet, our Mother Earth. Sometimes we understand this connection deeply, and sometimes we forget about it, but it remains, affecting everything we do.
In order to revive our knowledge of this deep connection and start living with full respect for it, we certainly need some assistance from the people who have kept the knowledge for centuries and from the ones living with it now.
It does not mean we should roll back history in order to return to the good old days or deny everything positive we have achieved in our modern reality. What it means is to restore our connection with Nature, both around us and within us, reinforcing and balancing everything we do and are.
This is what I am doing with my workshops, travel programs, and everyday actions.
